Susan Hendricks has spent over two decades in front of the camera, becoming a trusted and familiar face to millions of viewers across the country. Most
recently, she anchored Weekend Express on HLN from 2016 until the network’s news closure in 2023, guiding audiences through everything from breaking
news to justice stories with a steady, compassionate voice.
Her work in true crime reporting has earned widespread recognition. She led extensive coverage of the Delphi double murder case and co-anchored the special Delphi Murders: Teen Girls’ Killer in Custody? alongside retired cold case investigator Paul Holes — a moment that brought national attention to a case she’d followed closely for years.
Susan also fronted HLN’s coverage of the Gabby Petito story in Gabby Petito Investigation: Where is the Fugitive Fiancé? and sat down with Gabby’s father, Joe Petito, for a powerful one-on-one interview. In that conversation, he opened up about the emotional toll on his family and their push to change laws surrounding missing persons.
During her time at HLN, Susan spent five years contributing regular news updates to CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, becoming a key part of the network’s primetime coverage. Earlier in her career, she worked as a morning anchor at the NBC affiliate KMIR-TV and as a reporter for the ABC affiliate KESQ-TV — both in Palm Springs, California, where she got her start in broadcast journalism.
Originally from New Brunswick, New Jersey, Susan is a proud graduate of the Hun School of Princeton and holds a degree in journalism from Arizona State University.
